Do you feel sustained and supported by meaningful friendship? Do you find it easy or difficult to open up to others? Jesus’ relationships with the twelve disciples, and within that group with Peter, James and John, are a beautiful picture of the power of friendship and community. Jesus didn’t have any other institution or structure behind him, and he didn’t have a partner to share the load with. What does it mean for us to cultivate and be strengthened by those kinds of relationships, rather than operating as independent units?
